What is an online vision test?
Visibly's online vision test allows a licensed eye doctor in your state to renew your existing contact lens prescription using a technology called online refraction. It's not a replacement for a comprehensive eye exam but it can help extend your existing prescription without even needing to leave your house!
How does an online vision test work?
To take Visibly's online eye exam, you'll need a smartphone, a computer, and about 10 feet of space in a quiet area. You'll follow the instructions on the screen and use your smartphone as a remote to enter your responses. The entire process takes about 15 minutes on average and a new doctor-written contact lens prescription is usually issued within 48 hours. Who can take the online eye exam?
If you're between 18 and 55 years old and don't have a history of certain eye conditions, online vision testing could be a great way to safely and affordably renew your contact lens prescription. You'll also need to be located in one of the available states listed below.

Is the online vision test safe and accurate?
Yes! Visibly's online eye exam was developed by eye doctors and all results are reviewed by an eye doctor licensed in your state. For more information on who is best suited for an online vision test, you can check the American Academy of Ophthalmology's website.
How much does the online vision test cost?
Our online vision test only costs $20, and if our doctors are unable to write you a new prescription the $20 will be refunded. Not only is our online vision test cheaper than visiting an in person doctor, it also helps you avoid traffic and waiting in a doctor's office.
